Board

The Board of Directors at APR is primarily responsible for monitoring the operating performance and financial condition of the Company, appointing the chief executive, overseeing the company's adherence to corporate governance standards, approving significant transactions, and establishing the strategic direction of the company.
The Board consists of 6 members and is led by Alberto Reiner, who has served as Chairman since 2005.

Alberto Reiner

Founder of the Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Reiner holds a graduate and a post-graduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Pavia in Italy. He has over 45 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has aside from APR Pharma, founded several successful ventures in the areas of analytical laboratory services, as well as pharmaceutical and clinical services. Mr. Reiner is a sole or co-inventor on several issued patents and is a co-inventor on the Geomatrix oral drug delivery technology, which was patented by Farma Resa (one of Mr. Reiner's ventures) and today is owned by SkyePharma. As company founder Mr. Reiner still is involved in major strategic decisions related to APR and also serves as the chairman of the company's board of directors.


Paolo Galfetti

CEO and Member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Galfetti holds an MBA (Masters of Business Administration) from the Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. He has in addition achieved the distinction of CFA (Chartered Financial Accountant). Mr. Galfetti gained practical and managerial experience in a number of sectors such as clinical research, pharmaceutical discovery and development, business development and licensing as well as operational strategic management and restructuring. Mr. Galfetti joined APR in 1995 as head of licensing and business development and was appointed to chief executive officer in 2002. Mr. Galfetti is member of several Pharma Licensing groups and has been a speaker at a number of international conferences in the pharmaceutical field.


Thomas Rinderknecht

After completing law studies at the Universities of Zurich and Munich, obtaining a title as "doctor of law" from the University of Zurich and having been admitted to the bar of the Canton of Zurich, he has since 1980 practiced law in several law firms in Zurich and Phoenix, AZ, USA; Dr. Rinderkencht has been the founding and senior partner of the international law firm RKS Rinderknecht Klein & Stadelhofer, Zurich and Zug, and today, after a merger he is a senior partner in the mid-sized international commercial law firm Badertscher Attorneys, Zurich and Zug, Switzerland specialized in the fields of banking and financing, M&A, biotech, pharmaceuticals, contract and corporate law, trust and estate law.


Giorgio Reiner

Head of R&D. Mr. Reiner holds a graduate degree in pharmaceutical chemistry and technology from the University of Pharmacy in Milan, Italy. He has completed post graduate courses in toxicology as well as in cosmetic technology. Mr. Reiner is author of scientific publication and inventor or co-inventor of 15 patents covering synthesis processes, drug delivery technologies and pharmaceutical compositions and formulations. He has over 20 years of work experience in Research and Development in areas including organic drug synthesis, pharmaceutical process development and analytical control. Mr. Reiner has joined APR in 2000 and currently serves as director of research and development.


Valentina Reiner

Member of the Board of Directors. Ms. Reiner holds a B.Sc. in pharmaceutical chemistry and technology from the Chemical Engineering Institute of Fribourg, Switzerland, has authored several scientific publications and is co-inventor on a number of patents in the pharmaceutical field. Ms. Reiner has over 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical development, clinical research and regulatory affairs, joined APR in 1997 and currently serves as head of clinical and regulatory operations.


Raimondo Reiner

Member of the Board. Mr. Reiner holds a Degree in Law from University of Parma, successfully obtained with an expertise on "Technical and Commercial Know-How"; he joined APR in 1999 formerly as Commercial Director, and then appointed as member of the board since 2006. He is also member of the board in other companies both in the pharmaceutical and other business areas and is fully involved in the strategic decision of such companies.
